If you are interested in working on the Line 5 Wisconsin Segment Relocation Project, please reach out to one of the unions that represent the workforce being hired for the project. There are four unions that will be working on the project—the Laborers International Union of North America (LiUNA); International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE); International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT); and the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry (UA).
Laborers International Union of North America (LiUNA)
Laborers work in nearly every facet of construction, including buildings, highways and roads, environmental remediation, pipeline, landscaping and commercial cleaning. They have been described as some of the first crews in and last crews out of a construction job.

International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE)
Operating engineers operate and maintain engine-powered machines and equipment used in the construction industry. This equipment is used to construct highways, dams, roads, buildings and various other projects. The equipment includes bulldozers, cranes, loaders, scrapers and other related heavy equipment.

This work involves welding together pipe in the field or in a fabrication shop. Welder specific roles could include welder foreman, welder steward, and welder helper.

Teamsters General Local Union No. 346 represents workers in a variety of industries. Pipeline project work for Teamsters can include bus driver, skidsteer/skid truck driver, tractor trailer semi-truck driver, water truck driver and fuel truck driver.
