Regulatory Information

In November 2008, FHELP deferred the final investment decision on the Fort Hills Mine and put the Sturgeon Upgrader on hold due to cost pressures, lower crude oil prices and uncertainty in the financial markets. As a result, FHELP asked Enbridge Athabasca to slow down the pipeline development.

In support of this request, Enbridge Athabasca asked the ERCB to place the Project applications on hold, pending more favourable economic conditions. The ERCB agreed and will retain our applications in their system until March 31, 2010.
