Enbridge has a very low risk business model focusing on owning and operating energy delivery infrastructure. We do not find, generate, sell, or trade commodities, we simply deliver them. While we have three core businesses, they break down into five key reporting segments.

Liquids Pipelines

Enbridge operates the world's longest and most complex liquids pipeline system running from Edmonton to Chicago and up into the Toronto area. Its 2.0 million bpd capacity positions it very attractively between growing oil sands volumes and increasing U.S. security of supply demand.

Gas Pipelines

Investments in Alliance and Vector pipelines provide a strong platform for transmission growth of Western Canadian gas, while Gulf Coast gas assets provide exposure to this developing region and future LNG development. Enbridge is also well positioned to participate in frontier gas basins in Alaska and off Canada's East Coast.

Enbridge manages two additional publicly traded income trusts:
  1. Enbridge Income Fund (Canada, 72% economic interest) and
  2. Enbridge Energy Partners (U.S., 10.9% economic interest).
Both investments provide Enbridge with capital efficient exposure to organic volume growth and acquisitions of additional mature third party assets.

Gas Distribution & Services

Enbridge has interests in gas utilities in Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Alberta and New York State. Enbridge Gas serves some 1.8 million customers in Southern Ontario distributing 400 bcf annually. The franchise is growing at 3-4% from new residential construction, a rate which is double the North American average.

International

Enbridge's International portfolio consists of two select assets:
  1. OCENSA (Colombia, 25% economic interest) - a liquids pipeline which exports 60% of the country's production and
  2. CLH (Spain, 25% economic interest) - the dominant liquids network in Spain which has 85% of the country's market share.
