Market Access
Enbridge moves about 2.1 million bpd of crude oil through the world’s longest, most sophisticated crude oil pipeline systems. Enbridge provides approximately 12 per cent of daily imports to the United States – the largest single conduit of crude oil into the United States in any single day.
Eastern PADD II
The Eastern PADD II market is expected to require additional access to Canadian oil sands production as refineries in the area move forward and implement their reconfiguration plans. Enbridge continues to work with key shippers in Eastern PADD II to develop solutions to deliver incremental capacity to meet their needs.
Northern Gateway Pipelines
The Northern Gateway Pipelines project includes two new pipelines: a 36-inch (914 mm) diameter pipeline from the Edmonton, Alberta area to Kitimat, British Columbia to export production for shipment to Asia-Pacific and U.S. West Coast markets; and a 20-inch (508 mm) pipeline, utilizing the same right-of-way, to import condensate from the Pacific region to the Edmonton area. Initial capacity on the oil export line is 500,000 bpd, and an initial capacity of the condensate import pipeline of 175,000 bpd,. Enbridge plans to file the regulatory application with the National Energy Board in late 2009. The anticipated in-service date is 2015, however this date is dependent upon the timing of the regulatory decision and commercial support.

PADD I
Shippers have expressed interest in gaining access from the WCSB to the PADD I market. Enbridge is pursuing the development of solutions to extend the delivery of WCSB crudes, and in particular SCO, into the PADD I market to meet the existing demand.
Mid Continent
The Mid Continent, and in particular Cushing, is a dynamic and continually evolving crude oil market. A number of new pipeline projects are being completed over the next few years, which will increase crude flows into this market. The impacts of these changes are likely to create opportunities for movement of crude out of the Mid Continent.
