In the 10 years since it was acquired by the Livingston County Historical Society, Strevell House has had a fresh coat of paint . . . and much, much more in the way of renovations.

Enbridge and some of its business partners have supported the Strevell House makeover for years, including in-kind donations such as a complete rewiring job.

Strevell House's slate of renovations include new plumbing, heating, wiring, insulation, foundation and landscaping work.

Strevell House today in Pontiac, Illinois, a decade after it was saved from the wrecking ball. Says Bob Sear, president of the Livingston County Historical Society: “It looks great, and it’ll become a focal point of our community’s Lincoln history,” says Sear. “We’ve restored the formal entertainment area, where Lincoln likely visited, to as close to its original state as possible—and at the same time we’ve built a multi-use facility for the community.”

With a meeting space for bookings of up to 50 people, as well as an art gallery, Strevell House is both a Lincoln museum and a public gathering place.

The Strevell House gathering room for public bookings has been named the Enbridge Room, says Bob Sear, president of the Livingston County Historical Society. “I really believe that if not for Enbridge, this restoration project would still be going on," says Sear. "We couldn’t have done this without them.”
