‘Protecting those natural resources is important to us’

Lauren, an enrolled member of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians, has returned to her hometown of St. Ignace, Michigan as a community engagement advisor with Enbridge. “I would really like people to know how safety-conscious Enbridge is. The water holds huge value to me, and to my entire family, and I think Enbridge takes that very seriously,” says Lauren. “Enbridge has really demonstrated that they care about our culture here. They show respect . . . engaging with Elders, asking for input, participating in different types of ceremonies.”
