‘An unbelievable advantage’

A recent donation from Enbridge has allowed the Superior Fire Department in Superior, WI to purchase an on-scene decontamination trailer—providing hot showers for firefighters who’ve been battling a blaze, in order to wash away carcinogens. And as part of Superior FD’s arrangements with other fire departments in the region, the decontamination trailer will be available to be used in seven counties across northern Wisconsin. “So, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, we’ll be able to take this trailer anywhere in that region—it could be a train derailment, it could be a large warehouse fire, it could be anything,” says Scott Gordon, Fire Chief with Superior FD.
