Making strides towards a more sustainable future
Enbridge recently completed construction of solar energy fields at the Portage and Adams Pump Facilities in Wisconsin. These new solar fields will provide electricity for adjacent pump stations and reduce reliance on traditional electric grid energy. The Portage facility alone has over 36,000 bifacial solar panels, mounted on a single-axis tracker that’s computer-automated to follow the sun. At peak sun, this site can offset nearly two-thirds of the traditional electric grid energy used to run the pumps. The completion of these new solar self-power projects is an exciting step towards reducing our carbon footprint.
