‘It really is a special place’

Austin, president of the St. Ignace Chamber, calls this Michigan community the “gateway to the Upper Peninsula.” The recently opened Enbridge Information Center in downtown St. Ignace offers visitors a deep dive on our safety precautions around the Line 5 crossing at the Straits of Mackinac, including our Enbridge Straits Maritime Operations Center (ESMOC), and our Great Lakes Tunnel Project, which will house a 4.1-mile replacement segment of Line 5 deep below the lakebed. The tunnel “directly aligns with our core values, safety being chief among them,” says Bob, Enbridge’s manager of operations for northern Michigan.
