Hi Robert,

The company known today as Enbridge was officially incorporated in 1949 as Interprovincial Pipe Line Company, transporting Western Canadian crude oil to the U.S. Midwest.

Over the years, the company has been known as Interhome Energy Inc. and IPL Energy Inc. In 1998, IPL Energy officially became Enbridge.
