Enbridge’s Parental Leave Policy
Giving people the balance needed to take care of their families.
In spring 2023, Enbridge announced an expansion to our paid parental leave for all employees—from three weeks to 12 weeks—in both the United States and Canada.
This means, including the eight weeks of paid maternity leave already provided, that birth parents can receive up to 20 paid weeks of parental leave.
Additional unpaid parental leave for U.S. employees
- We have also expanded our parental leave benefits to include an unpaid component for US employees. In addition to the expanded paid time off, U.S. employees will be offered up to 32 weeks of unpaid parental leave. Benefits will continue to the same extent available while the employee was working and employees will be able to return to work to the same extent possible under the Family Medical Leave Act.
- This means a birth parent can choose to be away from work for up to 52 weeks.
