Storing Natural Gas

Natural gas demand increases during certain times of the year.

Winter demand can be up to 50 percent higher than in the summer, with extra volumes needed to heat homes and businesses. Natural gas storage helps meet this seasonal demand. Gas is injected into storage during periods of low demand and withdrawn from storage during periods of high demand.
