International Women’s Day

Celebrated worldwide every year on March 8, International Women’s Day (IWD) is an annual rallying point in the women’s rights movement.

IWD, first held more than 100 years ago in March 1911, isn’t specific to a group, organization or country. It’s a day of collective global activism and celebration that belongs to all those committed to forging women's equality.

After all, the story of women’s struggle for equality belongs to no one person or initiative—but to the collective efforts of all those who care about human rights.

March also marks Women’s History Month in the U.S., highlighting the contributions of women to events in history and contemporary society.

Jenny, an electrician by trade, works as a maintenance planning supervisor with our Liquids Pipelines group. &ldquoWorking with my hands, that’s who I am—at home and at work. And if that’s something that drives you, that you’re passionate about, then Enbridge would be a place for you,” she says.

Canadian Prairies women in operations: Miranda

Miranda is a mechanical technician with Enbridge’s Liquids Pipelines group, based in Regina, SK. She finds endless variety in a job that fuels her native curiosity about how things work. “I love the challenge, I love the puzzles, and I love that it’s like adult LEGO®,” she says.
