‘Warm and safe year round’
Mark Griffin, president of the Michigan Petroleum Association, notes during U.S. Army Corps of Engineering (USACE) hearings in 2022 that Enbridge’s Line 5 meets propane demands for more than half the state, and adds that the Great Lakes Tunnel, which will be built to house a new segment of Line 5 under the Straits of Mackinac, will “ensure that demand continues to be met. It will help re-energize our economy, and help to keep the people of Michigan warm and safe year round.”
