Five Skies training: ‘An awakening for me’

Since 2019, a partnership between Enbridge and Five Skies Empowerment Training has helped connect Native American job seekers with unions, contractors and businesses in the Upper Midwest. Enbridge recently hosted another four-week training session for Five Skies at our Ashland, WI office, and brought students to our Superior Terminal for a tour. “Enbridge wants to ensure the community is taken care of, and I think that’s my favorite thing about our partnership. It’s a success when someone follows their dreams and starts their own career path,” says Jon, a senior instructor with Five Skies. Adds John, a participant in this recent program: “I’m looking for a career change . . . and this was an eye-opener. An awakening for me. It made me look at things in a different way.”
