‘We’re very happy to see it finally get started’

Enbridge’s pipeline right-of-way crosses much of the land farmed by Tom and his family in northwestern Minnesota. “I think, like the entire community, we’re very happy to see (the replacement of Line 3) finally get started,” says Tom, a lifelong farmer. “We’ve been anticipating this for years . . . the community has been supportive and just been hoping for a long time that it was just going to get done. For us, this is a good time of the year because we don’t have a lot of farming operations going on . . . so in a perfect world, if it was all done by spring, that would be just fine with us.”
