Enbridge has 23 wind farms in operation or under construction, with a total net generation capacity of 2,117 megawatts.
Renewable energy

Since our initial investment in a wind farm in 2002, we've committed more than US$7 billion (about C$10 billion) in capital to renewable energy and power transmission projects currently in operation or under construction.
Together, our renewable energy projects (either operating or under construction) have the capacity to generate 6,611 megawatts (MW) gross of zero-emission energy (3,481 MW net), consisting of a diversified portfolio of renewable energy projects.
To date, we’ve invested in:
- 23 wind farms (4,871 MW gross capacity, in operation, pre-construction or under construction)
- 13 solar energy operations (1,718 MW gross capacity)
- 1 geothermal project (22 MW capacity)
- 1 power transmission project (450 MW capacity)
Collectively, those renewable energy projects in operation or under construction (and their 3,481 MW net generation capacity) are enough to meet the electricity needs of about 1.3 million homes1, based on net generation figures, which exclude our partners' stake in the projects.
