We invest over half a billion dollars and thousands of hours every year to maintain the fitness of our liquids pipeline systems in the U.S. and Canada. Enbridge Liquids Pipelines has achieved a safe delivery record of better than 99.999%—a record we’ve diligently maintained for the past decade.

Our Pipeline Integrity department leverages cutting-edge technology and technical expertise to manage asset-specific risks so that our pipelines are safe, reliable, and optimized to meet business objectives. Some recent technological advancements include:

• E-Nexus: This integrated technology uses Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) for remote inspections and geohazard analysis, which is used in the integrity analysis of our pipelines.
• In-Line Inspection (ILI) Tool Modernization: The upgraded ILI tool provides higher-resolution field data to enhance feature assessment on our dual-diameter pipelines, helping improve safety and reliability.
• Risk-Based Inspection Models: Data and flow path modeling advancements to enhance reliability and safety, particularly for out-of-service or low-flow piping segments, allowing for targeted asset inspections.
